The Work on Gas Reserves Begins in Sher Khan Port, Kunduz Province

Work on gas storage of Sher Khan Port was initiated today. The foundation stone of the said construction was placed by Minister of Commerce and Industry.

Mir Mohammad Amin Farhang. Engineer Omer, Governor of Kunduz, Mutasal Komaki Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry and Ms. Fatima Azizi, representatives of people in the National Assembly had participated in the foundation ceremony.  Dr. Farhang visited Sher Khan Port petroleum installations and talked to the owners of transportation means who commute through Sher Khan Port Bridge.

Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mir Mohammad Amin Farhang inaugurated the construction of gas reserves in Hairatan Port. The said reserves are equipped with advanced technical machineries and contain the capacity of preserving 320 tons of gas. The construction of the said reserves will cost four hundred and forty five thousand US dollars from the incomes of Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Minister of Commerce and Industry said,” the goal of establishing these reserves is not interference in the system of free market but to regulate the market in offering gas and prevent the increment of prices of petroleum.” He said,” Ministry of Commerce and Industry is able to prevent the hoarding of gas by using these reserves and ensure a sound competition alongside the private sector in offering gas in the markets of the country and he also added that the technical machineries of these reserves are able to fill various types of cylinders. According to another report, Dr. Mir Mohammad Amin Farhang, Minister of Commerce and Industries visited petroleum reserves of private sector, river reserves of Petroleum Enterprise and also machineries of oil refining laboratories of Hairatan Port. He talked with the officials regarding quality of the imported oil and asked them to prevent the import of any type of oil with poor quality into the country.
